A Message from the Presidents (2008 – 2009)

Dear Michigan Cornellians:

2008 has been an invigorating year for Cornell and the Cornell Club of Michigan, and we look forward to an exciting 2009!  We would like to thank Jason Leung '02, Shannon McPartlon '03, Irene Christy ’93 and Trevor Steer ’89 for their hard work in making 2008 a success.  In addition, we would like to welcome new club members and new Board Members.

Our mission for the club continues to be to promote excitement and enthusiasm for Cornell, as well as providing venues for Cornellians to interact.   Specific goals include increasing membership, with a particular emphasis on attracting a variety of alumni, and continuing to organize and promote events that associate and invigorate our members.

We have an exciting series of events planned for the year ahead, including a series of old favorites and hopefully some new ones.  One particular event you may wish to put on your calendar for 2009 is the Cornell Club of Michigan trip to Ithaca for homecoming on October 16-18, 2009.  

If you have suggestions, please feel free to contact us and share your thoughts. We are excited to involve members in facilitating club activities and welcoming new members.  There is always an opportunity for new board members, too, so feel free to contact us if you wish to take a more active role.
